Annual Dance Concert
Each year, Whitsunday Dance Connection proudly presents our Annual Concert Performances, showcasing the incredible progress and talent of our students. These exciting events are held at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre on the last weekend of November, with both Matinee and Evening performances.
Concert time is a highlight for many students, giving them the opportunity to perform on stage and share the dances they’ve worked on throughout the year with confidence, energy, and pride in front of a large and supportive audience.
Participation in the concert is non-compulsory, and families may choose whether or not their child takes part.
Rehearsals
To ensure our students feel confident and prepared for the stage, WDC holds two important rehearsals in the lead-up to our Annual Concert Performances:
Space Call
Held in October, this is the first opportunity for students to rehearse their dances on stage at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre.
-
Students should wear their regular dancewear (no costumes required).
-
This rehearsal allows dancers to become familiar with the performance space and stage layout.
-
Concert tickets will go on sale around this time.
Dress Rehearsal
Held in mid-November, this full-dress run-through is an exciting final preparation before the big day.
-
Students must arrive in full performance makeup and bring all costumes, shoes, and any props.
-
The rehearsal will take place on stage at the concert venue.
-
Tropix Photography will be on-site to take professional portrait photos. Families may choose to purchase these for a small sitting fee.
